Arnold Air Society
The Arnold Air Society is a professional, honorary service organization advocating the support of aerospace power. The “service” aspect is perhaps the foremost in the mind of many members, because of the society’s continuing contributions to our campuses, our communities, and our corps–but it should always be remembered that our primary mission is to improve ourselves as future Air Force officers.
Cornell University’s chapter of Scabbard and Blade – Charlie Company, First Regiment – is the third company to have formed, founded in 1906.Scabbard and Blade at Cornell honors those members of Cornell’s commissioning programs – Army ROTC, Naval ROTC, and Air Force ROTC – who best exemplify the qualities of academic strength, service to community, and outstanding ethical and moral character.Cornell University is the only Ivy League institution to host all three branches of ROTC programs. Through cross-town agreements, Cornell’s ROTC units offer commissioning opportunities to students at colleges and universities throughout New York’s Finger Lakes region, including Ithaca College, SUNY Binghamton, and SUNY Cortland.
The Joint Service Color Guard consists of cadets and midshipmen from the Army, Air Force, and Navy ROTC programs. They present the colors at Cornell University football, basketball, hockey games, and special events.
